Here I am, starting to get settled in my new life for the months to come. As told my accommodation is quite old (as stuck in the 70's) but livable. It is fairly big too, bigger than my flat in Paris.
Early mornings with all the birds singing, and the view, just a couple of metres away is just stunning!
Before I put some pictures (a bit later as I should be starting my shift in an hour and a half), let me share a thought that was mine yesterday, while walking on the American River's shore.
So as I was reaching the wharf, I saw a big statue of a pelican, then approaching the shore, as saw what I thought being a flock of statues, just by the sea, which I found really odd, until, a couple of seconds later, I realized they were real pelicans, just a couple of meters away from me, in the wild. Being not used to tgis, I can assure you that this is a great feeling. Being surrounded by true wild life!
Else, I'll have to figure out how to get around the island. It is true that the area is completely remote, and beside a small and a bit expensive general store, there is not much around. Plus around midday, the sun is bright, really, and it gets warm (but dry heat). Nevertheless, the evenings are a bit cooler than on the mainland.
Well, I have to get ready for my first shift, so I'll leave it for now.
See ya mates!
